Former supermodel and Billy Joel Ex Christie Brinkley will make her Broadway debut in the long-running smash hit revival of Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre.
Announcing today on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” Brinkley will play the role of Roxie Hart starting April 4.
Christie Brinkley’s acting debut came in 1983 opposite Chevy Chase in the feature film “National Lampoon’s Vacation.” She also appeared on NBC’s “Mad About You” and hosted Lifetime Television’s “InStyle Celebrity Weddings,” which became the highest-rated special in Lifetime’s history. She has been featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue as well as in many other magazines ad campaigns.
Chicago won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as 5 other awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse.
